Nike Using Twitter RSVP as a Release System
The legendary "Camp Out" something a lot of sneaker heads go through. You hear a spot close to you is getting a rare pair of sneakers at a limited quantity and you know you have to get yours. So what do you do? You sit outside of the store for about a week and you sleep, eat & drink while keeping your spot in line. Sounds harmless right? Wrong! Lately with the big releases i.e. Concords & Galaxy Foams Nike has been taking a lot of heat due to the camp outs getting violent. Trying to stop the madness they have banned midnight releases and are using what they call "The Twitter RSVP system". What that is exactly is as follows if a new pair of sneakers come out you must be following your local Nike Store and when they post a tweet at a random time with the sneaker in a hashtag, you must then DM them your info. That info being your last four of your ID, size and name of the sneaker. Of course it's going to be one per pair so it's going to cut down on people double copping and selling at a stupid high price on eBay. Now how quick will this will start nobody is sure but be sure it will definitely go down on the next big release. My question to you is the sneaker game being destroyed by hype beast and nobody's or have we as a community of sneaker heads become ignorant to the fact we are destroying ourselves??
